Bare-Hand Budo Course

We engage in various forms of training to master one-on-one, hand-to-hand combat techniques.

Kenryu Budo Jiyu Kumite (free-sparring practice) incorporates concepts derived from Kendo. This training includes:
– Solo training: We focus on exercises that are rational, sustainable for long-term practice, and designed to activate the body’s energy. This training is based on the principles of Qigong and Tai Chi.
– Footwork for spatial movement: Training in this area aims to cultivate natural, orderly, and balanced movement that extends harmoniously with internal energy, enabling seamless spatial transitions.
– Kata training: By repeating and adapting kata (set forms), practitioners develop freedom and adaptability within structured movement.
Partner training:
– Tests the precision of movements and the power developed through solo practice.
– Improves the ability to observe oneself objectively.
By alternating between solo and partner work, practitioners aim to cultivate mental focus and an ideal state of awareness.
